First Day of School

Well, my babies are growing up. It is still blowing my mind. Yesterday was the first day of school at our house. Jacob is officially a Kindergartener (excuse me . . . when did that happen) and Eric is starting his second year of preschool. It is such a blessing to be able to teach these bright little boy's all they need to know. Jacob's favorite parts of school are Bible time and story writing time. (His stories are really out of this world. We may have to "publish" some of them and turn them into Christmas gifts.) Eric loves Bible time too and adores coloring and cutting all his worksheets. He squirms at story time but can answer all the questions so we are working on sitting still. I will never tire of the miracle of Eric, this lively, smart little boy, whom we were told wouldn't make it through his first night. To say that he has proven them wrong is the biggest understatement on Earth. He even passed a big hurdle when he tested out of speech last month after only 2 years. Completely amazing considering he was diagnosed with a neurological speech disorder. Kiddo YOU ROCK!!!!!
Bright and Bushy Tailed Monday Morning.
Could you try to act excited Eric *wink, wink*

And of course no photo shoot is complete without the goofball pic!!

Thank you, Thank you!!

Boy oh boy did we get a box of goodies this last week. The boy's thought it was Christmas in July. Thank you Aunt Cher from the bottom of 2 very excited little boy's hearts. They think you are the best!! (They're totally right!!) Thank you for always thinking of our little one's!

If a picture is worth a thousand words than a video is worth a million. LOL!! Enjoy!

I am still here. . . I think!!

Well, although my blog may lead you to believe I have been doing nada, I have been quite busy. But I must say my friends have been even busier than me (no pun intended) but there have been babies galore lately. I had to break out my sewing machine in celebration of their little sweeties!!! Wow you all make cute kiddos.

Project #1
Baby Annika's quilt

Oh man, all that pink!! Makes me wish I had a little girl!!

Project #2
Baby Daniel's Quilt

I loved the prairie points on the inside so he can grab on them and chew them up!!

There were a couple other projects but I forgot to take pics before I sent them on darn it!!

Christmas has also come and gone since my last post.

The boy's got to see a little bit of snow before it melted back in Nebraska.

Eric got quite a laugh on his reaction to the first gift he opened

He was NOT a fan of his fireman puppet. He likes animal puppets but obviously he does not like puppets that are people. Needless to say there was no poker face going on. He truly expressed his hatred for this gift but for some reason it was hilarious to us. He know's what he likes and that wasn't it. Better luck next year.

Fear not he did get a present that he LOVED. Look at that face when he opened his puzzles. Woo Hoo!! That's a keeper

Jacob showing some love for his Ninjago sword. He still talks about Christmas at Grandma and Grandpa's all the time.

He also got a spiderman "shaving" set that he had to try out immediately. Anything to be like daddy!!

It was such a treat to see family. We truly miss living near you all. The boy's had the time of their lives nerf gun fighting with all their cousins and just being together.

Well, that's all she wrote for today.

Happy Halloween

O.K. this has to be my fave. We have Super Ninja up front and Hulk is picking his nose in the back. Classy I know!!

Eric has to tell everyone that he is "HUK"
Hope you all have a wonderful Halloween.
We are just hoping it won't get rained out.

Bad Turned Good

Well, we did not have the best day yesterday (which certain friends can attest to, thanks for listening to me vent) It involved Eric not participating AT ALL in speech therapy. Seriously he wouldn't say one thing she asked him too. His SLP came out and kind of giggled and told me what had happened but at least reassured me that "he wasn't ugly about it he just wasn't feeling it today". Well, we pushed on and headed on over to see Troy for lunch and it started raining cats and dogs right as we got to the playground. Ummm..... O.K. at least we still get to break bread together. That's when Eric decided he was done with his CHOCOLATE MILK and let it fall to the floor in the van. Yep, I said chocolate milk. Well that at least mapped out what I would be doing ALL afternoon. Raise your hand if you love "little green clean machining" your carpet to within an inch of it's life..... really no hands hmmm. So I started on that and then came inside to put the boy's down for nap time and when I went back out I realized the lights were still on on the van and the battery was dead. See I just couldn't catch a break yesterday.  Anyway, my hubby came home, helped with the van and power washed all the plastic parts of the car seats while I washed the covers. Thanks babe!! But the fun wasn't over. Jacob topped the day off by waking up at 9:30 and throwing up more that I have ever seen come out of a child.

Now I know you are all jealous of my luxurious life but no I won't share it's mine all mine. Because even though yesterday was quite undesirable this came out of it all today (plus smiling boy's who played and rode bikes all day):

Jacob's car seat cover had seen better days and I had some Transformer fabric left over so I made a pattern from his old cover and made this one. I quilted the Transformer fabric so it would be thicker and softer and then put nice thick black fabric on either side. I have NEVER had one of these "make-your-own-pattern" things come out right before so I was thrilled and Jakey loves it!! Woo Hoo. Yay for a better day. And can you stand it that the strap covers both have Bumblebee perfectly centered on each one. I didn't even plan that out. I think it was just pay back for the disaster that was yesterday. Have a good day. I know I did!!

Trick or Treat

Well, I finished another quilt tonight. This one is a Halloween table runner quilt from Moda. I thought it was pretty fun. I think instead of putting it on the table I will hang it on the wall or maybe even the door. This was my first time at Prairie Points and I thought they turned out pretty cute on the top and bottom. Hmmmm what to do next??
